We rent a one story townhouse that's something like 1,750 sq. ft. They finished building it the last week of October 2008. We signed the lease on Halloween and moved in the next day.

We own a house. It's pretty big at approx 4,000 sq ft. A PITA to keep clean. The basement family room is being converted to a therapy room since nobody hangs out down there.

we own a house, been here 14 yrs. the deed claims it was build in 1901, although we think the dining room was built in 1856, when the deed shows the property value jumped from $300 to $3000. everything looks to be an add-on to that. Or at least used to look that way before we remodeled!

I think it's around 1900 livable sq. ft - the basment is a shop/laundry/storage, it gets wet but not standing water. We just added a 265sq ft balcony though for outdoor living space. Had to replace the kitchen roof and decided to turn it into that instead of a sloped roof.

The previous owner turned it from a 3 bedroom into a 2 bedroom when he gutted the upstairs. We gutted the whole downstairs and since the living room used to be 2 rooms at one point in the house's history, we put it back that way and now we have and office/3rd bedroom. We did a major overhaul to the outside last year - stripped the house to the wallboards, did a crapload of repairs, all new windows & siding. Tore off the front porch (bad condition) and plan to rebuild it in the next couple years. The house is still 1/2 torn apart . . . time & money constraints.

If you really want to see!

How big is it? (1400 sq. feet of living space which doesn't include the attic & basement which can be redone for more living space)

How long have you lived there? since 06'

Anne, wow! That's quite a story behind your house, that's pretty cool And Hope, I had no idea your house was so big! That would be exhausting to try to keep up with.

We have a house as well, 3 bed/2 bath, around 1500 sq feet. We moved in about 5 years ago, and I wish we had more of a yard, but with a corner lot it's pretty squished.

I love old houses!!!

we live in a house, about 4000 square feet or so, wasteful space though, big open areas that are too big for halls but too small for rooms. hate it, no closets other then bedrooms blah!!!

lived here like 7 years I think

Wow I honestly am envious of all of you. We live in an 820 sq. ft. 2 bedroom apartment. We've lived here since 2004, it was my valentine's day present that year. I cannot wait til we have the area for a therapy room for DS.
