We were sitting at the table having dinner last night and we gave the baby some sweet potato fries figuring she would throw them at us more than anything. Not only did she put them in her mouth, but she chewed. After seeing DS struggle for so long with eating I almost lost it just watching her gum the fries into oblivion. It was like a tremendous reassurance that I didn't realize I needed and at the same time it broke my heart because he still hasn't done it. In all his life he's never chewed anything. It was such a bittersweet moment. Maybe I'm just being hormonal, but I'm nearly in tears just thinking about it.
