so Miss Avery was diognosed with no vidion at 4 months old. They said she could see somelights and maybe some shadows. Had her surgery that gave her arms length vision! At that time she was evauluated for ECI services. She was 5 months old and was in the 2-3 month range on gross and motor skills. 4 months on a few and then rest in 5 months.
She didn't smile till she was 6 months old. Didn't roll over till a week before 9 months. Couldn't support herself on her arms until 9 months. And now at 9 months and 2 weeks old (3 weeks now!)
thats right my 9 month old is now crawling right on time!! It doesn't seem to affect the fact that the child can't see past 3 feet in front of her she is everywhere!!!!! She just crawled about 20 feet now! I am so proud of her!!
I know that some of you here have kids that are so much further behind then Avery was and I pray that they cotinue to improve daily too but I am just so happy that she is crawling!!!! Her vision educator and mobility therapist are also super proud of her. We jsut did her IEP thingy a month ago and now she has gotten all of her goals completed!!! They were so shocked! I mean literally 6 weeks ago she was 3 months behind and now she is caught up to wear she should be for a seeing child!
