All of them except her pedi.

Her neuro doesn't think she'll do anything ever so I hate her.
Her developmental pedi thinks she's Carrie's mind reader and is always trying to tell me what carrie wants and what I'm doing wrong (and is always way off base)
... that's really all she has on a regular basis but all the specialists we've seen are the same story. They don't know whats wrong with her, but she'll never achieve anything

Lately her neurosurgeon. The last few times we've been there we haven't gotten good news. I'm really dreading this next one. Rachel needs to have 10 to 15 words or signs by July 20th or we're looking at surgery.

((hugs)) Melissa. I hope that won't be necessary.

Do school psychologists count?? Thank goodness we don't have to deal with her anymore!

As for actual doctors....I don't think there are any that I really dread. But Ellie's opthomologist really annoys me. He's a good doctor and I trust his judgement but he can't get Ellie's name right. How hard is that??? Her full name is Elysia and he calls her Aleesha. EVERY TIME! I correct him every time and I've told him repeatedly to just call her Ellie 'cause everyone else does and he just doesn't get it. Drives me CRAZY! And his nurses don't exactly have the best bedside manner. Good thing we don't have to see him often.

Right they her neurosurgeon is thinking of either a shunt or chraic decompression (removed a piece of her skull in back of head). They think that their is pressure on the part of her brain that controls communication and think this may help.

I totally had to google chiari malformation but yes she does. I'm horrible at remembering the medical name/term but I know that part of her brain is down in this "dip" in her skull.

I know this doesn't help, but I have a few friends with kids w/ Chiaris and they did very well after surgery. They thought Ava had it when she was younger but she had extrnal hydrocephalus. ((Hugs))

It actually does help. Thanks. Its nice to know that there are others out there who've been through this. You know? I mean I knew there were but I didn't know them or knew anyone who did/does.

The only one I dread is the regular pedi. Don't get me wrong, she's really nice! but she wants him to gain weight according to the charts and that just isn't going to happen with the diet he's on, period. She's too focused on the average and not enough on the individual.
