sorry I have disappeared, hi everyone I know and hello new people!
Update on Avery. she had 3 surgeries back in March for her eyes (that was 4-6) Visually she is doing good, developementally she is awesome! However we are having a hard time keeping contacts in her eyes right now for various reasons. Fit hasbenn a problem, price and having to wait 2-4 weeks to get a set of contacts in because they have to make them....
long story short we are considering doing implants in her eyes. It's kinda of like the cochlear impants, very contraversial. Some are for them some are against them.
It's a mess. She has scar tissue in the left eye again so we need to decide in the next 3 weeks if we are doing the implants or if we are going to try a laser surgery on a 2 year old! Doctor thinks she will cooperate!
so how is everyone else
That is a LOT for a two year old! She must be the queen at the eye doctor's office! Just out of curiosity...does she not wear glasses because they don't work as well as they need to or is something else wrong? Good luck with everything though and I hope whatever you choose works out well.
Danny is doing pretty well. His breathing has been a nightmare to try and get a handle on the last few weeks. He has to use his rescue inhaler literally everyday but they are out of options on anything else to do. He is maxed out on everything. We need to get a "well blood count" but he hasn't been healthy long enough to get one drawn that could be considered a "well count." :/
He had been saying that his tummy hurt so we started him back on digestive enzyme supplements per doctor's orders. That helped for about a week and now he says that it hurts again, several times per day, but it is in that voice that you know he is in pain and it isn't just achy like it was before. He goes to the GI on Wednesday though. I called and left a message for the nurse but since it was after 3pm I won't get a call back until Monday. When we went in for his post-EGD appt she said it he had more issues than they would probably go ahead and repeat the EGD and do colonoscopy because the EGD showed so many things... :/ We will just have to wait and see...
oh my poor Danny!! Ihope the GI can help with his reflux or pain or what have you!!! We deal with the GI stuff often as well, nothing to severe luckily, but Aveyr is on Nexium, as Preavid stopped working a few months back. Thank God she is doing good on the Nexium though or we were going in the for EKG and biopsies!
As far as glasses go, they do make them but they do not provide the same level. Her presciption is +19 in contacts so a +21 in glasses plus add +2 for her bifocals! It's super thick! MOst people who say they have big prescriptions wear like a 5-7! So we had some, but the presciption changed too much and can't use them anymore. ALso because they are sooo thick they are super heavy on her tiny face. They just can't see as well in them as opposed to contacts.
