So glad to read that your nephew is fine, everything i have read so far it either gets worse, they still have it 20 years on or are having hip replacements hopefully my daughter will be able to lead a "normal" life when she gets older.

I am sure she will live a very good and long life!! When my son was younger i was worried that he might have perthers since his biologial father had it as a child, now that my son was just diagnosed with an un curable disease that will lead to death probably before thirty i wish it was "just" perthes that was wrong with him.

I know this is nothing as just perthes it is a hard disease and it is always very hard to hear that your child has a disease but just thank that it is 2012 and they have gotten pretty good at treating perthes and i hope it will not be too hard on her!! All the best of luck to you
