My daughter Sonora is 9 months old now and one of her PTs brought it to my attention that she has small unusual movements in her hands, feet, arms and legs. I thought she just moved a lot but she said that it was unusaul and could not give me a reason. I was wondering if any one eles had any seen this with thier children? She also does this wierd thing where she curls her hand up to her forearm and rotates her shoulder inwards. She has done it since she was a baby. It is getting better and the Neurologist was not concerned and thought she would grow out of it.

We still do not know what is wrong with Sonora, all the tests come back normal. We are trying to teach her to roll over now and we have built up enough strength that she can hold her self up right if we have her sit. Her head still lags a bit.

It could be myoclonus. I am not sure but Brandon had a spell of having wierd jerky movements. They never really figured out why.

I would get a second opinion w/ a different neurologist. The curling of the hand and shoulder is concerning along with the jerky movements- there are a number of things it might or might not be.

It is really confusing and I do not know if I am explaining it acuratly. Sonora does not have jerky movements it is more sutle. For example, her hand may move a little then a foot, than a toe and on, I am hoping that it goes away, I do need to figure it out though. The twisting arm thing I have always thought was werid and it was always sort of blown off. Her EEG and MRI both came back normal and that may be why he was not concerned. I do agree I need a second opinion. We are going to go to the Mayo clinic becasue no one seems to know what is going on with her and why she is so delayed. I have read about so many disorders and medical journals trying to figure it out and I can not find anything that is similar.
I would have never guessed these are the books I would be reading.

Good idea to go to the Mayo Clinic; they'll have better ideas. Keep us posted! (((())))

I so understand what you mean; I often take a step back and think, "How did this become my life?" lol, I wouldn't trade it though.
