I'm full of questions tonight.

What kind of adaptive equipment does your child use or do you expect them to use at some point?

Dani only has a hearing aid so far, but we are starting on the process of getting DAFOs, a stander, and possibly a wheelchair at some point.

Well, we have the stander as you saw in her pictures. We also have a bath seat-which we haven't used yet (shame on us). I am thinking she will need a different stander. We will be meeting with the guy who does equimpment to see what else she may benefit from. A wheelchair may be down the line also-although I am still coming to grips with this. It is not easy.

She also has glasses.

Btw, what is DAFO???

DAFO: Dynamic Ankle-Foot Orthosis, its another type of leg brace thing.

I am okay with the thought of a wheelchair now, but I'm still getting used to the idea that it may be a full body and head support deal with tilt and all the rest of it. Oy.

Aleah has stage I ROP so we expect that she will have glasses. She also failed her hearing screen, (we expected it from gentymacin) so we anticipte she will need hearing aids, but our follow up appointment isn't until Tuesday

Thanks! I have never hear of this. Although, it may be something Sydney will need. We are going to a Rehab doc tomorrow for our first appointment.

Yea, the wheelchair idea is tough to come to terms with!

Hi,
We have a stander, AFO's, a wheel chair for the school bus and a gait trainer. That's it for now. Now and then my husband and I get creative and build things for her to adapt our world to her. I get a lot emotionally when we're able to do that. I also shop at Achievement Products and Talk Tools for different things that I think might also help to adapt the world to her or her to the world

I must have known that Sydney was going was going to need something else. The Rehab doctor yesterday wants to get Sydney AFO's! How ironic that we were just talking about it!
