Hi ladies,

I haven't posted here since 2008 when I was attempting my VBAC with my dd. It was a great experience (in the November 2008 Playroom birth subforum if you're ever interested).

This time around, I'm pregnant with our first boy and I am in the home stretch. I am hoping for another successful VBAC but am a bit worried that he's going to be a lot bigger than dd2 who was 8 lbs 11 oz. My doc is not concerned, even if he is big, so I'm staying optimistic.

The baby has been head down since my last appt; although, I swear he flipped on me last night! The reason for my c/s with dd1 was due to her being breech & the hospital's policies on scheduling the c/s for 37.5 weeks (insane, I know).

I look forward to getting to know you all, even though I'm joining late in the game!

You can always buck the policy. You don't have to schedule a c/s, especially that early. Talk to your Dr about waiting until you are in labor to make a decision and your LO may decide to turn head down for the big event.

Hello and welcome! That is a strange policy! I can't imagine why they'd schedule it so soon. Oh well. Have you been to Spinning Babies? If baby boy is breech, I'd recommend finding a chiropractor that is trained in the Webster technique to help turn him.

If you'll let me know your due date I can add you to our member list.

Wow, tht is very early, i would not schedule it that early, and i would find another hospital if they gave me any problems about it.

As for birthing a big baby. DS was 9lbs 4oz and i had no problems delivering him. My first DD was breech as well, which is why i had my csection. Also, i worried all the time that DS would turn breech on me too ( DD turned at 36 weeks ) and i swear anytime the movement felt different, i swore up and down he had turned, but he never did.

Good Luck and welcome!

Thanks. My due date is 7/22. The policy was when I had my LO in FL in 2005. I live in NY state now and the hospital I had my VBAC at was very VBAC friendly & so is the hospital where I'll be delivering ds. I remember when I scheduled my c/s with dd1 in 2005, I was very young and scared and not aware that I had 'options'.

This evening I'm feeling low 'flutters' but the stronger movements up higher in my abdomen. I'm assuming this may mean he's breech right now but I can check with my doc next Thursday just to be sure!
