Well, I have been having issues with Medicaid and finally got all my crap processed so we are now covered by medicaid....But, the hospital I want to deliver at doesn't accept medicaid....they accept other FORMS of medicaid, but not medicaid itself....so that but a damper on my VBAC dream with a midwife.

But I did find a doctor who "supports" VBAC. My first appointment with him is on June 29th. And the hospital he delivers at is VBAC friendly, it just depends on the physican. I am a little worried because he's the first male OB I've been to and I'm nervous about that, he's 60 years old and I'm afraid he'll be a little old fashioned in his ways! And I'm already 17 weeks along....I don't know if that will make a difference but it is a concern of mine!

Bummer about losing the midwife! But, to be honest, I think an old OB might be a better deal for you! Sometimes, they don't get quite as stuck in the "new" way of doing things. Good luck!

Oh, and being 17 weeks shouldn't be a problem, you've got plenty of time still!

Well, this situation may not be ideal, but being in a VBAC-friendly hospital puts you at an advantage. Have you considered hiring a doula, that way even if the OB you end up with on D-day isn't thrilled about VBAC, you'd still have that support in place.

Ditto!! I HIGHLY recommend a doula.
