Hi all. I'm now 15 weeks pregnant and thinking about a vbac. I had a csection with DS because labour did not progress, I want a vbac now but I'm unsure if I can find a doctor to back me. Time between births is only 18 month and the threshold for my area is 18-24 months.

I too had to have a csection with my son 3 years ago because I wasn't progressing and he wasn't dropping lower. I'm not yet pregnant (probabaly won't even try again till next year or the year after), but I too am really hoping for a VBAC.

Good luck, congrats! And I hope you get your VBAC!

The only way you'll know is if you go looking for a doc. But, even though it'll only be 18 months, you are still in the threshold. I would start making phone calls and see what you can find. Just call the offices and ask if they take VBAC patients, then go on from there to narrow it down.

Congratulations on your pregnancy, and good luck!!

Were you induced?

I'm with a midwife right now, who will refer me to many doctors to find one who will back me.. but she also suggested a homebirth if I can't find a doctor.

I was not induced. I went into labour on my own 4 days before my due date, with start and stop contractions. I dialated to 3cm but when I went to the hospital they said my fluid was low and would not let me proceed with labouring. Turns out OWen (my DS) had a HUGE head. It was measuring 44 weeks, I forget how big it was but it was alot bigger than anyone suspected. I also apparently have a small pelvic brim so I've been encouraged to eat very well and grow a "small baby" .
