I got my VBAC!!!! On October 11th, after 39hrs of labor (in the hospital, not counting how long I labored at home... ) I got my VBAC and my precious lamb, Callen Rhys! He weighed 7lbs 2oz and was 19.5in long and was sooooooo worth it. I was 40 weeks 2 days.

I wasn't able to have a "natural" birth, but I made it 24hrs before getting the epidural. I think my slow labor was due to the fact that I had a LEAP procedure done on my cervix in 2001... and it caused scar tissue. I never even thought that this would be an issue, but the nurses literally had to stretch and break these bands of hard scar tissue several times in order for my cervix to be able to dilate. Hopefully if I get pregnant again it won't be an issue.

But anyhow, I have to say that having a vaginal birth is so the way to go! The recovery has been wonderful! I did have a 2nd degree tear, he came out OP, but compared to a c-section it is NOTHING! And to have him put on my chest, and given to me straight away... it just is so emotional and natural... He breastfed right away, and has been doing great ever since. All of these things I didn't get to have with my first.

To all of you ladies hoping to have a VBAC I'm cheering for you!!!!

Congratulations and that's amazing! Hopefully in the future any of that scar tissue will already be gone.

Very nice!!!! What a wonderful feeling that is, no?

An OP baby will make labor take a long time too and will keep the cervix from dilating, so that may have been a factor too.

Great job waiting 24 hours for the epidural!

I pushed for about an hour and 45 minutes.... the doc said it was like pushing out a 9 1/2lb baby because of him being OP (he was facing my right leg). He said if he had been facing downwards it would've taken me 15 minutes to push him out. LoL Nice to know.

My advice is to have a plan, but definitely realize that a birth isn't something that you can predict how it will go... trust yourself, trust your body... have an advocate (DH spoke for me when I couldn't), educate yourself, and pray you get good nurses, they are the key to everything! I went through 4 nurses, and all but 1 was spectacular. One of them called to check on me after I had Callen b/c she didn't get to be there. But she was the one who went through the worst of it with me. She was great.

Good luck!
