I'm Laurel, mom to Phoenix (7) and Lincoln (2) and I'm pregnant with #3 and I'm due 09-10-2011. Both my kids were C Sections. DD was due to failure to progress (I believe it was way too many interventions and an impatient doctor, I was only in the hospital 8hrs when they sectioned me) and my DS was due to placenta previa. When DH and I decided to TTC I called every midwifery clinic within 100km radius and they all turned me away. When I got my BFP this time, I decided to try the 3 closest midwifery clinics again, the first two turned me away immediately and the third told me they had to discuss it and would get back to me. Well it had been over a week and still no word so I assumed it was another no. Then today I got a phone call and they're going to take me on! I see my new midwife March 1st and I get to try for a VBA2C! I'm thrilled!
Huge thanks to *Kiliki* for the FANTABULOUS new siggy!!
Congrats on your BFP and finding a midwife! I know how stressful it is to look for a provider who will take a VBAC, I imagine it's even more stressful when you've had more than one c-section. Good luck!
I don't understand why it has to be so difficut. ACOG and other health organizations have all revamped their guidelines to say that a trial of labor after 2 sections is not only no more risky than after only one but should, in most cases, be tried before a c-section is even considered. I'm sick of defensive medicine and dr.s who have forgotten the 1st part of the oath they took.
With that said, as some know I have a wonderful, amazing dr. who is supporting and guiding me towards my VBA2C with triplets. SO they do exist. And I am SOOO very happy that you found one!!
