Anyone ever use it? What was your experience?

I really want to do the home study course, but we can't (right now anyway) afford the course brand new.

I have wondered about it too for whenever we get pregnant again. I've wondered if I could borrow from someone who's not using theirs at the moment.

I don't have too much to add, but I have the mp3's, but not the book. I am enjoying listening to them and the positive messages, but I wonder if not having the written materials puts me at too much of a disadvantage. The books alone cost $100.

But, I figure listening to the mp3's has to help somewhat!! That is what I am telling myself, but I have about 12 or so weeks (I HOPE) before I find out how well they work.

I'm doing Hypnobabies right now. I'm actually done the course (just finished 2 days ago) and I'm doing the maintenance program now. I love it. I have a really great feeling it will work as I totally enter deep hypnosis every time I listen to my tracks.

I fully believe it is worth every penny and the tracks alone wouldn't be enough. The books are very important to the course, IMO.

blondie-lox, are you finding that the hypnobabies is really focused on you or do you need a lot from your support person? we are still trying to figure out if we can afford a doula, and though I love my DH he is just not cut out to be a labour coach. So I need to find something I can do myself, kwim?

There is a little bit for your support person, but from what I've read/heard if you don't have the support it doesn't hinder the course in anyway. My DH is the same, definitely not cut out to be a labour coach, he's super squeamish so he won't really be much help. Now, I did hire a doula, and I just gave her a list of some things to say/not to say and that's it. I'm really going to take control of my birth, so I'm not overly worried.

Where in Ontario are you (I'm in Ontario too)? My doula was super reasonable ($250) and she's fabulous, so if we're close I could give you her name.

I'm in Oshawa, just outside of Toronto. A woman I went to highschool with is a doula in toronto and she gave me a few names of doula's around here and they are all around $500-800.

Are you taking the course through somewhere, or doing a self study?
