I figure I will introduce myself. I am preggo with #2. I had dd July 11 and it ended in an unplanned c-section. I was devistated.
So this time around I am going to have a VBAC! (no try, just do!) I switched OBs and hospitals so that I would surround myself with VBAC supportive people! I looked up stats to make sure I was going to an OB practice that was supportive in more than just words.
About me: I am early 30s, working mom. I have been married to dh for like 4 months, but we have been together almost 4 years now. He is a wonderfully supportive hubby and father. DD and I are his world! I am quite happy with life. But I am hoping to cherish this pregnancy (when it stops being awful) because this will be our last baby.
Welcome! I'm Tiff, 29, mom to 3 boys. DH and I have been together almost 8 years, married for almost 6. DS1 was a 26 week preemie, DS2 was an unnecessary c-section, DS3 was my VBAC. I'm due end of June with #4 who will be our last I'm going for a VBAC again.
It's good to have a doctor that is working for you to have a successful VBAC. It makes a world of difference when you're in that vulnerable position. I recommend also getting in contact with your local ICAN network.
Welcome! I've found filling myself up with knowledge, finding the right provider, letting go of my fears early, and being positive have helped me so much this pregnancy. I'm 37 weeks and just in a waiting game for my VBAC and I'm feeling really great that I'll get the birth that I want!
I agree that looking to see if you have an ICAN chapter nearby. There's one an hour from me that I've been able to attend twice this pregnancy. I got really useful info on practical information on my providers (CNMs) and the hospital which really helped me. Hearing others VBAC stories really have pumped me up!
