Yay. The weather guy just said the current tornado looking cell is going to just miss where I live. Of course many more storm cells right behind it. So the storm watch continues.

The last tornado that went through here took the roof off my parent's garage and blew over two very old trees in their yard and then demolished several houses about a 1/4 mile from their house. (It killed 6 people, one entire family of three.)

Glad it's going to miss you. KUP. I hadn't heard about the storms in your area, but then I work so much the only reason I heard about the ones in Kansas City is because our "local" news comes out of there.

Lots of thunder last night, but no tornadoes right here. I haven't checked the new yet this morning to see if any hit around me. And tornadoes are scary, but I have lived in north Alabama almost all my life and I am kinda used to them. My mom is a little freaked out about them at the moment, but like I said in my first post the last one came WAY too close for her. She also knows that if it had hit the house (instead of touching down just after it passed their house) they would be dead. My dad had taken a sleeping pill that night, and by the time Momma realized what that noise was, she couldn't get him up and out of bed in time to get downstairs to a safer place. Plus one of her dogs had gotten under the bed and she couldn't get her out. I think she would have left the dog up there, but I know she wouldn't have left my dad (obviously since she didn't.)

The storms passed through most of the country eastern part of the country last night. I hope everyone else on here faired as well as I did. I saw last night that one girl on TTC#1 posted pictures of around her family's homes (though luckily only around them not actually them) that had tons of destruction.

Yikes! We've had some fairly close calls this year. We did have one go through our backyard when I was in high school. I slept right through it. My parents still makes fun of me that I could sleep through that. I'm glad they missed you.
