I had surgery about 5 years ago on my boobs. I was told one of the side effects would be not being able to breastfeed.

I plan on breastfeeding unless I am able to do so. You just never know until you actually get the opportunity, if you will be able to or not. I will probably be pumping as well for times when I am on a photoshoot or have a wedding or something.

I hope to, I tried with Alexander but he couldn't suck right. I was so disappointed. But he was early so we had to put him on premie nipples because he just couldn't suck right. took a month before he was feeding well, then he never stopped!

I plan to breastfeed. unless (like siad in the poll) there is a medical reason I cant, I know it might be really hard work and some people just cant take to it but I really want to give it a go. I wont be going back to work straight away but I think i would also like to pump as I would like DF to experience feeding the baby. although ive heard you shouldnt breast and bottle but I think whatever works best for you and the baby is best.

I could have answered yes to both, plan to but if I can't that is ok, and will have to pump to go back to work (I ended up picking the second one.) I will for sure BF during my maternity leave (6 weeks) but we shall see how pumping at work goes. And of course there could always be problems and reasons I can't BF in the first place.

I would like to but probably won't be able to. I had a breast reduction in 2000, and knew that not being able to BF was a possible side effect. I tried in 2001 with DS, and couldn't. Docs say time may have changed that, so we'll have to see. I'll have to pump to start with just to see if I even can, or if I have a large enough milk supply to BF though. If I do, I'll probably just pump and feed breast milk in a bottle so others can have a turn at feeding.

Hmm... Pumping may work? I had BR in 2003. I haven't been able to feel anything in them since I got my BFP and that was just sore.

The doctors told me that with time, I might heal enough to BF even though I couldn't with DS in 2001. They recommended pumping first just so that I knew wither baby was getting anything or not. I've known other women who had BR and went on to successfully BF their babies though, so I haven't given up hope yet.

i breastfed with my first one until I ran out about 5 months later. She had no problems switching. I was already giving her formula at night to hold her through. It helped her sleep through the night. I just couldn't satisfy her anymore with it but I did enjoy it so I'll definitely breastfeed as long as everything is well.
