I thought that I had posted this somewhere on the TTC1+ board, but I guess not.....or did I? I don't even know any more. (If I did, disregard this. It's all Carmen's fault. )

Anyway, my first appointment is on June 26th, but I was an idiot when I made the appointment, and didn't have DH's schedule near me. My appointment is at 2:30 and there is a darn good chance that DH would be able to make the appointment, since he gets off at 6:00. (The office is so busy that they are normally hours behind.) But, there is a chance that he would miss it, and that would just break his heart. He has to be at all of the appointments.

So, I don't know what to do. Do I just count on the doctor being behind schedule and Jimmy making it? Or, do I change the appointment and run the risk of it being 2 or 3 weeks until I can get in?

I believe that OB days are Tuesdays and Thursdays at my doctor's. DH has Thursday, the 3rd off, but that's another week away, and who knows if we could even get in that day. Ahhh!

I am not sure what you should do. I guess you could let your DH make the call. Four hours late is kinda a long time to "hope" for. I know my DH plans on going to all the visits, and he would have been very upset if he could not have been able to see that first ultrasound, though he left for work before I actually talked to the OB. Are you getting an ultrasound that day, or will you be getting your first one later on. If it is just an OB visit I might leave it as is, but if you are getting an ultrasound I might look into changing it. He won't want to risk missing that.

If you change it to July third your visit will be the same day as my first "real" OB visit.

KUP about what you decide to do. (And I am sorry if you already posted this somewhere on here. I just never saw it and I wanted to know.)

It is possible that my appointment really would be that late. They are normally running at least 4 hours behind. They do things a little unusually. You call in 10 minutes before your appointment time to pre-register. Then, they call you back 15 minutes before they need you there. Since we only live about, maybe 7 minutes from the place in heavy traffic, we simply stay at home until they call us. So, it really is possible that DH would make it. After all, my first appointment with him was running 5 hours behind. But, I'm not sure that I want to chance it.

I told DH earlier what I will probably do. If they call me before DH gets home and tell me to come in, I'll ask them if they can call the next person in line first because my husband isn't home yet. Surely they will do that, and then just call me back in a little while.

Yes, he will do an ultrasound on that appointment. We'll get to see our little squid.

I called my OB and spoke to a nurse named Karen. She said that there probably isn't any chance of them calling me before 6:30 anyway, but just in case, when I call to pre-register, I just need to tell them that I won't be able to make it until 6:30. She said if they ask any further questions, just explain the situation to them, and tell them that Karen instructed us that this is what we should do. So, DH gets to make the appointment, and we don't have to change the date!! Now, all we have to do is patiently wait until the 26th.

If the JM calculator is correct, I'll be 6 weeks and 1 day along when we have the appointment.
