I'm a huge fan of traditional, I suppose old-fashioned, names with proper spellings, so that's what most of my name choices are.
I've said for the longest time that our son's name would be
Gabriel, though I did toy with
Sebastian (another name I love), but now I don't know. I still love
Gabriel, but if I was confronted with naming a little boy right this second, I don't know that I would pick it. I love, love, love male Biblical names, which everyone thinks is odd because I'm not religious at all. I'm not sure why a person needs to be religious in order to like Biblical names, but anyway these are my (current) favorites though I do have a humongous list of male names that I will spare you all from reading:
Gabriel Alaric
Sebastian Elliot
Seth Isaac
DH likes all of them except
Sebastian, which he says is "okay...not too bad." His favorite is
Logan Isaiah, which I say is "okay...not too bad."
As for a girl, her name is set in stone, and will not under any circumstances be changed. She will be named after my grandmother on my dad's side that was murdered in the 60's. Unfortunately, I have two second cousins who named their daughters this name after my grandmother, but that doesn't affect my decision. I've wanted to name my daughter after her since I first really found out about her when I was 17. Her first name was rather unusual, though I have seen it around a little lately on the internet. Her middle name will be my mother's middle name. Her name will be
Zada Jane
. DH and I both completely agree on this name. As for other possible daughter's, DH and I like
Rhiannon Elizabeth and
Isabel Lena a lot too.
Lena was my great-grandmother's name on my mom's side.
