Has anyone had.. or plan on having a water birth.. or atlease give it a try?

I have been doing research about it.. and there are a lot of Pros about it.. I actually thought it was weird.. but I did more reseache on the idea.. and watched water births from google videos.. I will be hopeing to have a Vbac with our next baby.. but i think if i am able to try to even go that route then I might try water birth..

How does everyone feel about it?? or had one.. or plan on it.. ect..

I want to get as much info as i can.. b/c i want to have all my ducks in a row..and have everything planed out for our next baby..I know its a time away.. but still.. i want to know what i'm going to plan.. and kinda have a plan A and a plan B kinda thing incase things don't go as planed..

I've been told by 3 Drs I'll 99.9% end up in a c-section. My pelvis is to small for a baby to fit though.

ya! acutally ever since i was a teenager..i knew i wanted to have a waterbirth!! its supposed to be calming!! i hope that if i dont have a c section (given my history of surgeries etc) i get to have one..i first found out about them by watching baby story and birthday etc! it just looks so calming too..i like baths!! but some women are grossed out by the gunk in the tub..i usually would be one of them..but i just think of the outcome! it will be beautiful..you will get to shower later so its really no big deal..or so i dont think!!

I have done very thorough research on the subject and once I do get my BFP, God willing we will be having an at home water birth with a midwife assisting.

I wouldn't mind considering a water birth. But, I know my DH would freak out about it and not want it. He's all about being in the hospital with doctors.

Well I had a c-section with Gracie.. but I am really concidering the water birth but at the hospital.. I think I would be to scared to try a water birth at home though. I do not want to have meds at all since they didnt work the first time.. and water is really relaxing...and the "gunk" is in the water.. and your baby comes out all washed off.. and not all bloody.. ect.. and also when you have a contraction it feels like you are wetting yourself b/c the fluid from your water leaks out.. and I figure that why not just be in a warm tub.. so you don't feel like your peeing on yourself..

You can have water births at the hospital.. you just have to ask.. they have special rooms with birthing tubs. I am not having a home birth.. I would be to scared.. but I would be all for having a water birth in the hospital.

I figured that I can try and if I do end up needing another c-section.. I would have inleast have tried.. I just don't want to give up and just have a c-section with out trying.

I like the concept of a waterbirth-at our hospital they only have a regular small tub like at home-so its not an option here. I'll be a repeat c/s anyhow, but if I lived somewhere bigger I'd love to try a VBAC hospital water birth.

If I didn't have to have a c-section, but if I didn't I'd want a waterbirth in the hospital.

I really want to do a waterbirth, and have told my husband that. I would prefer to do it at home with a midwife, but not possible here in Alabama, as they are illegal here, ugh. Even though I live in a decent sized city, the hospitals here don't cater to waterbirth either. They only have the regular sized tubs. I've often joked with DH that he could deliver our child at home in a special tub. I mean he was once a paramedic and is about to get his license back, so why not? lol

I have seen them on television and many videos and it looks very peaceful. I would probably be willing to do it but DH is so traditional that it'd probably take some convincing.
