I am so heart broken! Ryan and I had to take my brother's 3 month old puppy while he was at work, to the vet because she got hit by a car. She was breathing when we got her there but the vet said there was a little to no chance of her surviving being that she was so small and young. Poor little Gracie, I have cried all the way home. Her mother ran up to us when we pulled into the driveway and I am sure she is wondering where she is, it's so sad. The boy that hit her was a 16 year old driving very well over the speed limit(80 in a 25) in a full size SUV and he didn't even stop when it happened. Several neighbors saw it and stopped, one lady, who's child was bawling their eyes out in the car, stopped and called the sheriff, but the state trooper showed up and said there was nothing he could do since there was no damage to the vehicle. The boy eventually showed up and said he was so sorry that he couldn't get the vehicle to stop and I literally ripped him a new one. I told him had that been a child his A** would be sitting in a jail cell and that he's lucky it wasn't. I told him that they post those little signs for a reason. While I was trying to get ahold of a vet who was open 24 hours, he stood there and watched her suffer so I hope he feels horrible and will at least learn a lesson from this. There are so many kids in the neighborhood and he could have easily hit one of them.

RIP little Gracie Mae!

Oh no..That's so sad...I'm soooo sorry you had to deal with that. I'm an animal lover and hate to hear about any animal that is hurting, suffering, abused..whatever it may be. Some people just don't care.

Awww, Tabby, I am about in tears now, because I know exactly how that feels. My heart goes out to you, and to that sweet little puppy.

Thanks. I so wasn't able to sleep at all last night, it just broke my heart. It had been such a long time since anything like that had happened and I am such an animal lover.

Thanks ladies.. I am still taking it so hard. Watching the mother is breaking my heart. She has been wandering around and I know she's looking for her. I can do nothing but cry over it. It's amazing how something so small can be with you for such a short time and it leaves giant paw prints on your heart.
