Please excuse the rambling. I just want to know if my rationalization to make an RE appt is rational. The plan is IUI #3 beginning of May. Then if that doesn't work we are suppose to make an appt to discuss our options.

Typical wait time for appt- a month. So I calculated it. So then end of June appt to discuss., then tests etc, which may be needed to be done on certain days of the cycle so say July tests, then meet with him again August then start something in Sept. Gosh, doesn't that seem like a long time.

Now I was suppose to do IUI#3 in Jan but we've had many bumps in the road (false positives, chemical pregnancy, have to wait 2 cycles and now hubby away).. that I do not want to waste anymore time. I called today to make an appt..interestingly enough the earliest appt is May 19th (so not just a month away anymore). It is around the time that I will know if #3 works. Which may give us the opportunity of discuss and initate tests in May/June and proceed earlier then Sept. That is my rational. I am trying to be proactive, to get things done. I am hopeful that #3 works but I am also trying to be realistic and make sure that we can start whatever is next as quickly as possible and not waste any more time.

I think you're over thinking LOL I would just go in and I am certain the RE will have the best plan for you to follow and hopefully you won't need more than one anyway.

Girl, make that appointment for May 19!! I had just done IUI #3 with my OB last November, and I had my first RE appointment at 12dpiui. I thought that my OB was a jerk, and though I was hopeful that the IUI would work, I was like you and wanted to get things going if I got another BFN. It took 2 months to do all of the tests and have a lap like my RE wanted before we could start trying with a new plan. I'm glad that I didn't wait any longer to make that appointment.

You know when it is time to move on, and it sounds like you are ready. Go for it, and definitely keep us posted
