Hi all-
I just wanted to share my story in hopes of bringing some light to some of your TTC struggles.
I went off the BCP after 11 years about 4 years ago. It then took me 8 months to get my first period. I went on to only ovulate about 3-4 times per year.
I tried all of the natural stuff- herbal teas, tinctures, acupuncture, OPK's and making sure we BD'd at just the right time. Nothing worked. We got my husband tested and he was negative for issues. It was basically all because I rarely ovulated.
Last October, at almost 3 years to the month from when we started, we got pregnant :-) I started bleeding pretty soon after my positive test so I was in and out of the lab and the dr.'s office for early internal ultrasounds and testing. It looked like the placenta was detaching but we had a very strong heartbeat!
The bleeding stopped after a few months and Abbie did just fine for the next 9 months. She was born full term this past July. She is my heart and I adore her beyond measure.
Waiting this long only makes me appreciate her more and more each day. I know some people would have gone to Clomid way sooner than 3 years but I just had a nagging feeling that our child would come naturally in due time. Thank goodness we caught that lucky egg!
