So went in for a reconsult yesterday. Told the Dr we were taking off til August to save up some cash. So we were going over what we could do after if this last IUI doesn't work and to see what we could do to strengthen our chances for August. So it would seem that we are going to do a laparoscopy in July. WHile they'd got me all sedated and stuff they are going to put dye through my tubes too since my HSG was an epic failure, lol. Sooo...wish me luck!!! Has anyone had a laparoscopy done? I've read some stuff online but am kinda wanting a personal experience...
***A HUGE thanks to marriedc for the awesome siggy!***
I had one. The suspected that I had endo, but it ended up that wasn't the case. I went in and they put in an IV, had me pee in a cup so they could verify that I wasn't pregnant and all that good stuff. The doctor told me what to expect after the procedure and then we went to the operating room. I had two incisions... one inside my belly button and one just below the bikini line. I was lucky in that I didn't have much pain afterwards. If you do have pain in the shoulder area (from the gasses they use to inflate your tummy.... it helps to sleep in a upright position. I highly recommend asking for anti nausea meds to be put into your IV in recovery. (ask before surgery) I usually don't get sick but the combination of the anesthesia and the pain meds had us pulling over less than a mile down the road so I could be sick. Not pleasent anytime... but especially not when you've just had surgery.
If you have any other questions, just let me know. Good luck! I hope this helps you!
