I had only ovulated on my own once since we got married in May. I knew this was not normal, and after talking to my friends on here and to Gary I went to the dr. She wanted me to have a x-ray on my ovaries so I went and made that appointment.
I have the scan on my ovaries at the hospital and was told my dr would get back in touch with me if there was anything wrong. About a week letter I received a letter from my drs surgery telling me to go and see my doctor. I went to the appointment and my dr said she was pretty convinced I had PCOS, she wanted to send me to a OBGYN to have it confirmed as she could not do that her self.
I receive a letter from the OBGYN's secretary telling me I need to have bloods taken on certain days of my cycle and that Gary needs to do a SA. No appointment would be made till these have been done.
AF finally shows (my 1st since November) and I do all the necessary blood work, we then make an appointment for Gary to have his SA done.
We get our appointment through. At the appointment Dr says my blood work shows I probally have PCOS and orders a HSG scan to be 100% sure. He also wants to make sure my tubes are not blocked. Gary's SA was not much good either. His sperm was not form properly and they was not very good swimmers. At this appointment I realize how lucky we are to have my Mia. He also said he wanted me to loose weight in case we had to go the medical route to conceive. The following Wednesday I join weight watchers.
I have had my HSG and my follow up appointment tells us my left tube is blocked. I definitely have PCOS. We have now been TTC for a year as of May. Dr is pleased with my weight loss of 1.5 stone. Prescribes Metformin to help aid with the weight loss. He will see me again in 4 months, and if i continue my weight loss we could possibly try clomid.
I see my OBGYN's registrar this time. She didnt know who I was from the next patient. She was very pleased with my 2 stone weight loss. My BMI had gone from 49 to 43 in 7 months. She told me to keep taking the metformin and that when I come back in February I will probally get put on Clomid if my weight loss is as good.
My starting weight at the start of my OBGYN visits was 19st4lb, I am currently down to 17st11lb
