So I'm back from my HSG I had this morning. It was awful... I woke up at 6:15, I had trouble sleeping as well and I was super stressed. I have major anxiety problems and it made me feel so sick!!! I decided to take two Naproxen, to prevent period cramps.

My mom came with me. Dayum car rides can take forever when you feel like throwing up I had a plastic bag just in case. When we got there, the nurse told me to get undressed and put the gown on, I started crying Stress, fatigue and fear does that to me. And I'm a little wuss as well So I walked around in circles in the hall, still feeling sick. I made my mom feel sick by walking around in circles

Then the nurse called me and said my mom wasn't allowed inside. But I need my mama! So I started crying again My OB saw I wasn't feeling well, he said I didn't have to do the test, that I can come back another day. But I said I'd still feel the same, so we might as well get it over with... I kept my little plastic bag with me, just in case. Everything was fine until the nurse put in the tool to open the cervix, HOLY SH** that hurts!!! And then every time she injected the dye, it'd sting pretty bad. But that all lasted like 2-3 minutes so it wasn't THAT bad. As soon as the test was done and my OB said everything was normal, I started feeling a bit less nauseous

I haven't had any cramps after that. I went to my acupuncture appointment and it helped me relax. I can feel it's a bit sensitive down there right now but nothing too bad. It bled a little as well but not anymore.

So glad this is done!

Miranda, thanks Well right now this is our 3rd and last cycle on Clomid before we move on to IUI. If this cycle doesn't work, we have papers to sign on February 17th, and the IUI will happen at the end of February.

I woke up at 6am this morning, with a bit of sensibility down there and it made me feel sick. Again! I took a Naproxen (for the pain) and Gravol (for nausea) and had to take the day off. The nausea went away around 10am. I blame it all on stress Gosh I hate being like this!

I'm just a little worried, because the nurse told me if it still hurt today I should call them back, cause it's not normal. But it's not really pain, it's more like discomfort, as if AF was coming. I take Naproxen to make it go away so I don't know how bad it can really get. Isn't it normal though that it's still sensitive down there for a few days? They worked down there, so it's only normal, no? This morning I have brown spotting as well. Am I worrying too much?

Girls that have had HSGs, did it hurt or did you have discomfort like 24-48 hours after?

radiologyinfo.org says: "There may be slight discomfort and cramping when the catheter is placed and the contrast material is injected, but it should not last long. There may also be slight irritation of the peritoneum, causing generalized lower abdominal pain, but this should also be minimal and not long lasting. Most women experience vaginal spotting for a few days after the examination, which is normal."

So I'm guessing it's all normal...

Sorry I missed your HSG! Darn moving! I'm sorry you had a rough morning with it but glad the results were good. They say that a LOT of women get pregnant within 3 months after an HSG because it kinda cleans you out. Good luck! I hope you are part of that whole 3 months theory!
