DH and I have been trying to conceive for the past 14 months (almost 15) with no luck. So yesterday I went to the OBGYN for some answers as to what to do. As we talked he was concerned that I don't O until between cycle days 19-21, yet my cycles are between 28 and 31 days. We took a blood test yesterday to see if my progesterone levels are too low. He said he's thinking about puting me on clomid this next cycle. I was a little excited just to have a plan and more hope that it might work. Do any of you have experience with clomid or know anything about it? He explained a little, but I feel like it's always good to hear it from women who have been through it. Thanks!

I took Clomid for 4 cycles. I didn't get PG but thats because we are also dealing with Male Factor issues. Clomid had me producing anywhere from 2 to I think 8 was the most I had in one cycle. They were big suckers too! They gave me a trigger shot as well even though I didn't really need it...just wanted to give my body that extra boost I guess. My only complaint about the Clomid were the wicked hot flashes and the occasional headache. Good luck! Let us know how it goes!

I took Clomid 50mg for 5 months, CD 3 to 7. O'd fine but never got pregnant. My side effects were headaches and hot flashes. I'm now on Femara 5mg.

Thanks everyone for the info. I really appreciate it!

Just a little update on me...
The blood test showed that my progesterone levels were slightly elevated which they said was good, but they still were a little low. We did another blood test on Monday and my thyroid was normal. So, now we're just waiting for AF to show so that I can start the clomid. BUT I'm at CD 34 and she hasn't shown yet! I don't want to get excited, but I'm really hoping I'm already pregnant. I was cleaning on Tuesday and found an old test (expired) so I didn't want to toss it before throwing it way and I really just think I needed to pee on something. However, it came up BFN. I know it was expired, but now I'm nervous to test. My Dr said to wait to test until Monday, because that would be CD 37 and my longest cycle in the last 7 months was 36 days. So, I'm trying to hold out and wait! I just keep worrying that I'm getting too excited, too soon. I guess I'll wait and see!

Well girls, thanks for all the support! However, I'm out this cycle. Got my lovely period yesterday! I was so mad! I was even 4 days late and it's the longest cycle I've had in the last 6 months.

Well, onto clomid. I'm supposed to go in tomorrow for blood tests and then I think he's going to start me on CD 5. He hasn't said how much of a dose he's going to put me on, so I guess we'll see. I read online that clomid sometimes gives people less CM. What do all of you think? I don't have that much anyway and now this might make me have less. I've been thinking about going online and getting some preseed. What do all of you think?? I wish we had a CVS near us, but we don't so I have to order it online. I'm a little worried that it won't get here in time.

I got pregnant my first cycle taking it, but it ended in a chemical ,clomid is great at helping super ovulate meaning more targets for the sperm thus higher chance of pregnancy but it is also known to thin the uterine lining and dry the cervical mucus needed for the sperm to swim ,your doctor should monitor your uterine lining and if its too thin he can give you estrogen to help thicken it, and if you find no EWCM when your ovulating you can try preseed or pasteurized egg whites. good luck!.

I did get some preseed since a lot of people are saying it dries you out. So, hopefully I'm good there. My Dr hasn't said anything about the uterine lining, so thanks for that info. I'll ask him about it at my next appointment. He's done a lot of blood tests, but I don't remember him testing my estrogen level. I go in on the 5th to get my progesterone tested and make sure that I ovulated. Hopefully the next time I see my Dr I'll be pregnant!
Thanks again ladies!

Not everyone has a thinned out lining on it but I did so its worth having your doctor check around cd 10. also after your last clomid dose till ovulation you can drink red raspberry leaf tea its very helpful in building a healthy uterine lining.I think Peppermint tea also does the same and I had lots of EWCM this cycle after drinking peppermint tea just one cup every night before bed .
