Hello Ladies,

Its been such a hard time for me in the last two years to become pregnant that the stress has been crazy. I finally had an ultrasound to be sure that my uterus and tubes were clear and I was diagnosed with a retroverted/titled back uterus which could be why we have been so unsuccesful with concieving. We have now until april to continue to try on our own and if nothing happens we will probably be looking into IUI and or IVF. Anyone else have a tilted uterus that may be able to give me some pointers on positions and or other things that may help assist us a little? Praying on everyones pregnancies this year and wish all you lots of baby dust~

Shannon

I have a uterus that likes to go from retroverted to anteverted and every doctor I've spoken to has told me it has nothing to do with not being able to conceive. In fact I've been pregnant 3 times and being retroverted had nothing to do with my miscarriages. It's not a "diagnosis" in that it's not a disease - it's normal and up to 30% of women have it. The only problem it causes is that it may make it harder to see something on an ultrasound early on but that's it. I suspect your issues lie elsewhere. Did your doctor tell you otherwise?

I was told from our Fertility specialist and HSG doctor that a retroverted uterus would have no barring on the ability to conceive. Stay happy and keep positive thoughts!

My doctor told me that it actually does make conceiving a little harder. I have a retro-verted uterus and my doctor told me that doggy style (sorry I can't remember the medical term for that position) is the best position not only for more comfort during sex, but also will improve chances of pregnancy. Also she suggested lying on my stomach afterwards for a little while.
