My husband and I have been TTC for nearly 2 years but only recently did we get serious about it. Sweetie's sa came back clean so I scheduled an appt with my Dr. which is in a few weeks. I'm just wondering what to expect from the initial appointment. I've been tracking ovulation and am on month two now. I'm not really sure what to ask or what the normal procedure is for determining infertility issues so I'm hoping someone can help me out
My six year old was born nine months after one slip in using protection with my ex. I never imagined that baby number two, this time with the right man, would be so difficult. I want to make sure I make the best of the time with my doctor so I'm looking for advice. Are there right questions to ask. Does anyone recommend starting with one test or skipping over ones that will waste my time?
Being patient for two years is really taking it's toll.
Ive never had a referral for infertility so not sure what questions to ask but just wanted to say I know how u feel I got pregnant with my DD while on bc she is 5 yrs old been trying for no 2 for 11 month I also font know why it's so hard when I got pregnant so easy with my DD x
Just an update... Went in to my appointment and the doctor asked me a few questions. Since I'd already had a child in the past without any complications we by passed a few more basic steps and my Dr. prescribed clomid for next cycle.
Have to wait a few more days to do the pregnancy test.... Hopefully I won't need the meds! I hate waiting
I started with my doctor in Jan 2008 and gradually moved onto a reproductive endocrinologist (RE) before the year was up. My first appointment was basically family history, blood work, and a pelvic exam. Once my blood work came back normal, DH had a SA and I had a post coital test done. I started Clomid when both of those test came back perfect. After 3 months of Clomid, I tried Femara ( did not work for me). I then had a laparoscopy and ovarian drilling done because I have PCOS. We then tried Clomid and moved onto an RE when that did not work. I had a HSG done with my RE and we started down the road to IUI but changed to IVF in 2009.
Now that we have moved we are starting with a new RE in Jan 2013 so I will be back at square one, which seems so long ago.
I HOPE everything turned out good for you, and if not that you get your BFP very soon!
