No, they're too young at this poing. When they're older they'll get one providing they behave well. I'd like to start teaching them about managing money at an early age.
We tried the allowance for chores, they had to keep their rooms clean but that didn't work. They had their grandmother clean it and would say they did it. We give ds every friday a dollar for every happy face he gets at school, he couldn't get $5 he can't stop being a class clown. DD gets $5 weekly.
They have certain chores that they are expected to do and do not receive an allowance for. Like cleaning their rooms, feeding the cat and dogs, and my 10 year old has to take care of keeping the litter box clean. There is other things they can do to earn extra money though.. like washing dishes and helping with the laundry and other housework.
