I couldn't really say. He knew that I had 2 children from day one. In a way though I think it has made him better. His family tells me quite often that they've never seen him so happy and his mom was amazed to see how much DH lights up when he comes home and the kids run to him. I think that if we didn't have them the emptiness from not having #3 would be a lot larger.

I'm in the same situation. We've never been without kids. I brought my two from my first relationship into this marriage with me, and he knew about them all along, I get comments from his family about how much happier he is now and he is an amazing Dad to the kids. We met online on a message board though and he knew about my kids before he ever told me he was interested in meeting.

The only way that it has affected our relationship is that we don't go out to the clubs or watch rated r movies anymore. DH wants to start go to the clubs or to the movies alone since the kids are older now, but I'm just so used to being home or with the kids. If the kids decide they want to spent the night with family then we go out, but I don't like to leave them with babysitters or family so we can go out.

We met online as well, through a text based game of all things. We're both big geeks and still play the game together several times a week.

We had 8 years of childless bliss together! We got too used to eating out at nice restaurants, travelling on a whim, working lots of extra hours, going to movies three nights a week--we spent a lot of time together and we both really miss that. Yesterday was our day off together, so we sent Noley to the sitter's then went for pedicures together, a nice lunch at an adult restaurant, then caught an afternoon movie-just like the old days!! We don't have family in town, so we don't get a sitter more than once a month to go out together. Yesterday was our fourth theater movie in 21 months!! Our life has changed considerably since having DS--I am amazed at what a great father he is--I never thought it would be so cool to see them together!
