I've been trying to read to him since birth, even while pg--but he's still not into it. He likes flipping the pages which drives me crazy! I usually make up stories and he gets bored I try to read at least every 2nd day to him.
I don't read to them very often. Neither of them really likes to be read to. They prefer to sit down and flip through at their own pace. I used to try holding them and reading to them, but they'd either turn pages faster than I could read or take the book and walk away. As long as they show interest though I think it's alright. If they had no interest at all in reading then I'd start to worry.
DD I read to her since she was born, she would just flip pages but I liked the time we spent flipping pages. After she discovered the ABC book she wanted us to read it all the time. DS I read to him whenever I could I went to beck to work when he turned 3 months, he would just flip pages never really liked for us to read them. He did after he was about 4 he like one about cookie monster and he still wants us to read to him now, but he has started read and he likes to read to us better.
