I just got of the phone with my insurance company. The RE wanted me to call and ask some very specific questions about coverage, so I did (even though when we called a year ago they said NOTHING was covered......not even testing). Well, there have been some changes to my policy, and they cover all fertility testing, including the ultrasounds and such for monitoring with Clomid, and if coded right, and the PCOS diagnosis stands, ESPECIALLY if DH has a low count (which we suspect) then the IUI itself will be covered too!!!!!

I am beyond thrilled! Now, my prescription coverage doesn't cover fertility drugs, but I checked with Walgreen's and the do cover some fertility meds (Clomid for sure) with their discount prescription plan! HURRAY!

I can't wait for the 8th to get here so I can get the details on our plan of action and get the ball rolling!!!

(We really thought they weren't going to cover any of this and that we were going to have to pay for all of it out of pocket. We had plans of borrowing against DH's retirement plan and trying to get a medical loan to cover this stuff. This is such great news!)

That is GREAT news!!!
Oh and FYI... if you start with clomid (most people do) it's on walmart's $9 list which is a great price from the normal $50!

At this point it looks like what we are going to do... or at least what my OB/GYN thinks will happen is that we will go straight to IUI with Clomid and a trigger shot and progesterone supplement after O. I'll have more of a plan after my appointment on the 8th. Is it the 8th yet????? It appears that I just O'ed today, so I am going to have my progesterone levels checked next Friday, and then have my estradiol, LH, and FSH done on CD 3, and I'll be seeing the RE right about then also! YAY!
