Has your DH had a semen analysis done before? How long did it take to get the results back? Did they explain the results to you or did you have to try to figure them out on your own?
DH has to go in for his later today, and he isn't sure what to expect so I thought I would try to find out for him.

He didn't get his done because of the insurance, but they told us that we'd get the results back within three days. I think it partly depends on the lab though.

You are probably right. I'm hoping we get them back soon because we have our appointment with the RE on Monday and I want as much info as I can have by then.

You can call ahead and ask and they'll probably tell you how long it'll take. Just make sure to write down as much as you can for the RE on Monday. In my experience if they say they'll send the results over they never do.

I have to be back at the same clinic for bloodwork on Friday, so I am going to make them give me a copy of the results then. I had already thought about that possibility.

Good job! You've really got stuff under control from the sounds of it.

I read in another post it takes 6 days to get the results. I personally don't know. I used to work in a lab though as a phlebotomist and I know alot of tests don't take as long as they say. I always call when I think they would be in and they usually are. If not sometimes the nurse will tell you when to call back. Good Luck!

Yes my dh had it done, and it took three days, and they explained everything to me.

Monday is not too far away, it is great though that you are going to get the medical assistance you need. When my dh had to do his sperm analysis, they gave us a special cup and I had to bring it in within 30 minutes, which was ok, we were like 15 minutes, you should have seen me running into the hospital with the paper bag, I thought everyone probably knew what was in that bag, embarassing at the time, yet funny now. Hopefully his little swimmers will be ok, my dh's were great, they told us he had a high count, and great motility, and at the time that crushed me, (i guess cause then I felt like all the fault was on me, but I pretty much got over that). Good luck!

We suspect low count. He's kind of stressed out now though because instead of doing it at home and me running in with the cup (we're like 20 minutes from the clinic at most) we'll be doing at the RE's office which is 45 minutes to an hour away on a GREAT day. He'll have to do it there and he's a bit worried that he'll get stage fright. lol

Good luck for Monday! You know he needs to do nothing-no bd or otherwise for three days before the test, right?

Yep. That's part of why we were so frustrated about it being rescheduled! We hadn't done anything for 3 days and now we are going to have to do that all over again. And he's so whiny when he's sexually frustrated! lol
