I guess I should start at the beginning...I have very irregular AF's I always have now I only get 2 a year, I don't have anything wrong with me I have had a lot of tests over the years and everything always comes back normal. I had them every 6 mos for 2 and a half years right up till I got pregnant with DD. After my c-section I didn't really bleed much and it went to just spotting after 1week. I didn't get my 1st AF for 9 months but I breastfed for 4 so they said it might delay it. Then I got one in 5 months later I was so upset because we didn't get to BD everyother day to increase our odds...anyway we started bding alot 5 months later incase it was early again and it was We weren't pregnant. My was for Aug 25th. I was worried cause I didn't stop bleeding and it was almost 3 weeks later I have never bled like this, this much or for this long. I also had some sharp cramping on and off (which I usually never get) and alot of clots (again I never ever get). The dr said that It was not AF she wanted to do a biopsy. She did that and gave me my rx for provera and clomid. Well to get to the point she just called me today with the results she said my uterus has an infection. Some of the placenta is still there. DD is almost 20 months old, how did this happen?!?! She doesn't know but that's what it must be from she said. Anyway now I am on 2 different kinds of antibiotic and she said we don't have to stop trying this cycle. Since i'm still on the provera AF might take a lil while to come and if the antibiotics overlap with the clomid it will just be the tail end so we are ok. That's all that matters to me. Anyway if you're still reading this I just wanted to know if anyone knew of this happening to anyone else???

I have never actually heard this happening to anyone else, but I have heard allot of stuff that doctors are missing these days, since they are giving you antibiotics, that should help allot. I imagine your c-section was not planned, possibly they got in too much of a rush, not excusing them though. My best friend had a normal first pregnancy (with the exception of a c section), however when she first got pregnant with her 2nd child (after 2 years of trying) she went to the hospital because she was bleeding, an they did an ultrasound and informed her that she had a bicornate uterus, which basically means that there is a wall betwen her uterus, (the baby was in the small side), anyway the point of that was the doctors did not notice this the entire first pregnancy.

Usually you hear of this happening after a miscarriage (a natural miscarriage where they didn't have a D&C. As frustrating as is it, if you didn't have any problems during labor, its no wonder they didn't notice it. I hope this straightens things out for you and that you have a beautiful BFP soon!

I just can't figure out why it hasn't been a problem for 19 months, I mean I'm glad but I would have gone to the dr's sooner. I also can't figure out how they missed it being that I was wide open on the table. She said she thinks this might be why I am having a hard time getting pregnant. Oh well at least we can continue this cycle.

After I had ds #1 I hads loads of pain and my midwife thought I had retained part of the placenta (epspecially since It took over and hour and half to come through after he was born and she was organising for it to be removed maunally) but the scan showed nothing was there thankfully

Wow-I haven't heard of that either. Did she say anything about scarring--I know infections can cause tube blockages, are you booked for an hsg?

she said she didn't see any scarring, she thinks the antibiotics will clear it up. I am hoping.

I had a uterus infection last year. No placenta, just an infection and an endometerial polyp. I took antibiotics which cleared the infection, then had a hysteroscopy and D&C to remove the polyp.

I am starting to wonder why I don't have to go back and have it checked after the antibiotics. I think it might be cause she's letting us keep going on this cycle of meds but the end of the antibiotics would be before I could get pregnant. I will still be taking the Clomid.
