Welcome to the board! I don't think a lot of people realize it exists. They assume you're either fertile or you're not. It is a reality though and makes an already emotional rollercoaster a lot worse.

Since your first pregnancy was easily achieved and you've been trying for your second for thirteen months it's safe to say you're dealing with secondary infertility. The good news is that sometimes it just goes away. People will try for years with no luck only to finally get pregnant and then have several more with no trouble at all. It can be hormonal, dietary, stress related, etc. Did your doctor talk about running tests or anything yesterday? Sometimes it's as simple as needing a month or two of Clomid to get pregnant.
ETA: If you don't do it already you should try charting. If nothing else it will give you reassurance that you're ovulating and can help rule out a luteal phase defect. A lot of women here use Fertility Friend.

i've noticed that all the girls are using fertility friend (LoL!) i am checking into it, it looks like a really good tool. i've been using a fertility monitor kit for about 8 months, and it "appears" that my cycleas are regular, and have scheduled and hsg test. my doc told me that we appeared healthy and had no obvious reason to not get preg (at least if i had something wrong, maybe they could fix me LOL!) i know i know, lots of ladies are having problems that can't be fixed, i wasnt trying to offend. i just feel so out of luck sometimes. it can be very heart breaking to see that BFN every month

Welcome to the group! I'm Stephanie, the host here on the SI board. The good news is (and I can't remember where I read this, but I'll look into it) that nearly everyone who suffers from secondary infertility does go on to have another child! It's hard and it's stressful. Sometimes it can cost a lot of money, but if you are willing to follow through and do whatever it takes, you have a high chance of another successful pregnancy. My first pregnancy was a complete surprise. Not only were we not trying, WE WERE PREVENTING! With my second, I didn't know anything about charting or OPK's or anything like that so in reality we were not trying but not preventing, and it took just over two years to conceive that time. Now I've been trying for 2 1/2 years, and had 5 miscarriages. I'm with a new DH this time though, and we have a few things working against us too. I have PCOS and low progesterone, causing a luteal phase defect. We are also pretty sure that he has low count, so we are now moving onto medical assistance and most likely an IUI.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. Make sure you look at the stickies at the top of the board. We just started a contest the other day that runs the entire month of September, so jump right in and start posting. You just might win a prize. Also, if you haven't done it already, fill in the roll call at the top of the board so that I can add your important dates to our calender.

Welcome I haven't been here all that long and I can tell you everyone here is so nice and supportive. If you're having a bad day come here and they will cheer you up, at the very least you'll know that you're not alone.
DH and family/friends can be super supportive but they can't know what you're feeling, it helps to know that others are going through or have been through the same things as you! I like seeing people get BFP's here it gives me hope!

That was the hardest part for me. Feeling like I'm broken and completely alone. This board has done wonders for me. If you ever feel down you can bet the ladies here will try their best to pick you back up again.
