Having to take DD to the doctor yesterday because of concern over her size made me start wondering what really is normal.

How old is your child?
How tall are they?
What do they weigh?
Do you know what percentile they are in on growth charts?

How old is your child? DD is 5 and DS is 2
How tall are they? DD is just under 4 feet tall and DS is just under 3 feet.
What do they weigh? DD weighs around 46 pounds and DS weighs a little under 30 pounds I think.
Do you know what percentile they are in on growth charts? I don't remember what the percentiles are, but I know they're both considered to be tall and light weight. I didn't break 90 pounds until high school though so I don't imagine they'll gain weight quickly. Being very light is a family trait.

How old is your child? 9.5 & 7
How tall are they? DS1 is 53 inches. DS2 is 48
What do they weigh? They both weigh about 71 pounds!!
Do you know what percentile they are in on growth charts? DS1 is about 40% for height, and about 60% for weight
DS2 is about 50% for height, and over 90% for weight
Both kids were on lots of steroids for asthma, which has affected their height. DS2 is still on a high dosage of the inhaled form, and used to be on the oral form frequently (until last year), which has caused him to gain weight and slowed down his growth. DS1 stopped growing for a while because of the steroids, but caught up a bit after his doses were reduced (because his asthma improved).
They both used to be at the 75% for height before all the stroids. What matters now is that they ARE growing, and their asthma is under control.

How old is your child? DD will be 20 months on the 10th
How tall are they?34 inches
How much do they weigh? 24 pounds
Do you know what percentile they are on their growth charts? She is 95th for her height and I think it was 35 or 40th% for her weight. Her doctor never tells me unless I ask she just says she is gaining/growing well. We have had some issues with her weight but at her 19month c/u pedi said it's not a concern anymore...yay!!!
These are from Aug 13th

I'm not sure about DS's stats. I'll have to check them when the kids get home, but DD is 47 inches tall and weighs 52 pounds. She's 10 and 5 months. That puts her a either 3rd or 5th percentile on weight, and the 0 percentile on height. I knew she was small, but I guess I just didn't realize how small she really is!

ETA: She has to go back in 6 months to see if she is growing at a steady rate, and if not, then we will explore our options.

Nolan's 23 months, 30lbs, and no idea on height. He's always graphed a little short and wide, but I'm not too worried He eats well and he's on track developmentally, so I'm happy.

Stephanie: From what I know what matters is not the growth percentile itself, but the growth rate. So a child who's always been on the 90th percentile and then drops to the 50th is more concerning than a child on the 5th percentile who's staying on it. (I would be worried too if my child was below the 3rd %). I hope she has a growth spurt really soon, and you won't need to do anything.

From what I remember she was always down around the 5th percentile for everything. The fact that she's now on the 0% is what worries me. Obviously at some point she's fallen off the curve. I just hope she grows so they don't have to give her steroids and crap to make her grow. I've always heard that they hurt and at best only get you a couple inches over a long period of time.
