I'm heading over here because I think this forum is maybe going to be most helpful.
I am getting REALLY frustrated but also hopeful that I WILL get pregnant soon. We both want a baby so badly, and I hate the fact that each month, our kids are getting older, I'm getting older, and we just are so READY. We have been for AWHILE now!
DH and I each have a 6.5 year old from previous relationships. We actively tried to conceive for about 8-9 months, and then took a hiatus in June, July and August; we moved, and then went on vacation for 2 weeks, plus DH had some custody stuff going on with his DS so we felt taking some time off from charting, temping was a good idea. We didn't prevent, but just didn't try--truth be told, after 8 months of charting and BDing, it took us awhile to even get back in the groove of "just-because, romantic sex!"
Starting back up now--I have an appt. at a new infertility clinic in 2 weeks and am anxious to "get going." I really want a plan of action.
I had a complete blood test about 6 months ago and all was normal? My stupid old OBGYN tossed some Clomid at me and I was on that for two months, but stopped--he wasn't monitoring me at all with u/s and I started reading some pretty scary stuff about how dangerous that can be. The risk just wasn't worth it to me, I would rather wait and, if need be, do Clomid the right way with careful monitoring.
I guess first thing now is DH will have a semen analysis? Is this a usual first step?
Truth be told--I feel like it's "me." My mom took 9 months to get PG with me, and then tried for over a year and a half and was moving on to adoption when she finally got PG with my brother. My grandma had two children, but tried for a 3rd and was never successful. So I am obviously not from a line of women that get pregnant at the drop of a hat!
I had a laparoscopy in 2001 (suspected endo b/c I had really painful, long, heavy periods, and sharp, stabbing cramping) and got PG with my DD 6 weeks later. My dr. said that a lap. can do that sometimes.
For the record---NO ENDO. I do have a tipped uterus and I've been told that can cause sharp pains during BMs/menstruation, etc.
Just wanted to say hi to you all and I hope everyone sees BFPs soon!
