Ok ladies. Let the war begin! We are challenging TTCMA (though I know several of us post there too, so we have to work twice as hard here!) The war lasts until October 31st at midnight. No double posting. Someone else must post between your posts. Other than that....post away!
ETA: I will be posting on both sides since I am a regular poster on both boards, but you realize of course that my loyalties are here, so someone hurry and post every time I do so I can post again!

I hope everyone is having a good day. Sorry I didn't get daily questions up today. I had a fellowship dinner at my church, so I had to cook for that this morning. It's been hectic! lol

Dh took us to breakfast we got up early this morning. The kiddos went to the pizza and the movies with their aunt and cousins. Dh and I are alone for a few hours, and he wants to watch football. So i'm going to walmart and target since I don't have to worry about the kids and dh wanting everything in the store.

I would love to learn how to make homemade soup....please post you recipe (if you don't mind) when you get a chance! I have to make sauce tomorrow...usually I do it on sundays but we went to the Roger williams zoo with my mom, sister and niece today. We had so much fun. I am going to post some pics when I get a chance.

I made a variation of tomato soup. I had a recipe once, but today I didn't follow it b/c I didn't want to dig it out.
Here's what I did:
I chopped up some baby carrots and sauteed them along with chopped onions and celery in about 2Tb of extra virgin olive oil. I also added 2 cloves of fresh garlic (squished in garlic press) and approx 2 TB of chopped fresh parsley, salt and pepper to taste. Once the oil got absorbed and it got dry, I added about half a cup of boiling water so that the carrots could keep cooking.
Once the carrots were nearly cooked, I added about two cups of chicken broth, one 19oz can of crushed and one 19oz can of diced tomatoes. I also added about 1tsp of sugar to get rid of that acidic tomatoey taste. I let that all simmer about 20 minutes. I ended up throwing in a packet of beef bullion just to flavour it up a bit, but you don't have to do that. I think the original recipe asked you to puree the carrot/onion/celery sautee once cooked, but I kind of like having the carrot pieces in my soup. My soup ended up pretty thick, very filling!
If somebody posts right away, I'll tell you about the yummy WW dessert I made tonight!!

I took a recipe I found in the paper called Apple Cranberry Crisp but I modified it to be WW Core-friendly:
I took a glass pie plate and sprayed it with spray Becel (you can rub it with butter)
I put half a cup of whole frozen cranberries and two peeled/sliced apples in it.
I sprinkled with brown sugar twin and cinnamon
I topped with one package of instant apple cinnamon oatmeal
I baked at 400 for 30 minutes, let cool for 5 minutes, and I served it with sugar free vanilla frozen yogurt-yummy!!! Mine made two servings.
I'll get the actual recipe
1/2 cup plus 1TB all purpose flour
1/4 cup oatmeal
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup butter
6 McIntosh apples, peeled, cored and sliced
1/2 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
1-in mixing bowl, combine 1/2 cup of flour, oatmeal, sugar and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembled coarse meal.
2-lightly butter a baking dish. Place apples and cranberries in dish and toss with 1TB flour. Top with flour, oats, and sugar mixture.
3-Bake at 400 for 30-35 mins until topping is golden and apples tender. Let stand for 5 mins before serving.
Makes 6 servings.

That sounds really yummy. Last weekend we went apple picking and I came home and made my 1st ever apple pie and apple turnovers. The turnovers came out so yummy but I didn't like the pie, Seth did though and he doesn't even like pie. The pieces were to small so it was really mushy and kinda grainy. I didn't put enough apples in either though, I didn't know they shrink down so much, I started out with them overloaded.

Oh I'll definitely have to try those recipes! I love trying new things.
DH took me out for ice cream after church tonight. I just love the Turtle Waffle Bowl Sundaes from Dairy Queen. They are soooo yummy!
They are on page two already ladies! We gotta post faster!

I hope he has a nice birthday. Working long shifts sucks though.
I'm off to bed. I'm exhausted and having hot flashes. UGH! This Clomid better do the trick soon! And the side effects better go away sooner! lol
