They covered my Clomid! I called Walmart in advance and confirmed that it only would've been $9 to fill the prescription. Well, AF had me in so much pain that when I picked it up I didn't even bother looking at the price (bad thing to do, I know). After I got home DH looked at the receipt and pointed out it only cost $5 which means our insurance covered it! Turns out they allow $2,000 in typically uncovered stuff each year so it fell under that. We could even send in a receipt for a box of bandaids if we wanted to and they would reimburse us for it. Of course we won't be doing that because it's a lot better having it there for medications! I wonder if they sent us to an RE if their bills could be submitted under that as well... Or even DH's SA! It'd be great if we didn't have to hand over $500 in advance to get that done.

My insurance surprised me by covering the ultrasound and blood test that I had while miscarrying. They normally don't cover anything pregnancy-related, but they do cover complications of pregnancy and miscarriage !! How ironic! If it had been a viable pregnancy they would not have covered it!!

Why is it insurance coverage never makes any sense? They need to just give a checklist of what they do and don't cover and give reasons for their logic. Rarely does it make sense.

They're so adamant about not covering anything for infertility that I'm really surprised they covered it. The 50mg dosage is so cheap at Walmart that I wasn't overly worried about it, but at least now I know if she has to up the dosage it'll be covered.
