UGH! I had to pee so bad - I almost didn't make it till the ultrasound. Then they did what they had to and I got to pee and then I had a transvaginal ultrasound. Boy was that fun - NOT! It wasn't as painful as I have heard it could be, but it wasn't a walk in the park.

They said I had a follicle on the right side and had a hard time finding the left ovary. They told me to expect spotting today as that can happen from the transvaginal ultrasound. I go see my OB Tuesday - though they said that the OB should have the results in a day or two.

I also found out my OB is leaving his practice (selling it to someone I am guessing cause he is the only doctor in his practice)! Apparently (my u/s techs were also patients of my doctor) he is moving to the country and joining a family practice. I guess I will find out more from my OB when I see him Tuesday. I have to find an OB that delivers at my hospital that isn't the witch that delivered my son (cause my OB wasn't on call that weekend). My friends like their OB, but he doesn't deliver at St. John's (where AJ was born).

ugh the trans u/s are the worst. I'm glad you got a good tech cause they can be painful if the tech is too rough. I found out I was pg w/tay very early on so they did alot of these u/s's to make sure the pregnancy was progressing and 1 time I thought the lady was going to pop the sac...she was waving that thing around like a joystick. I hope you are able to find a good dr that delivers where you want to!

My first trans was very painful and resulted in a lot of bleeding and cramping. I was in my second trimester by then and thought I was going to miscarry. The bleeding and cramping lasted a week. The one that I had recently though caused no discomfort or spotting at all. It was less noticeable than our uhh... feminine products. The tech makes a huge difference in the comfort level.

I've had quite a few transvaginal ones over the past 2 years (ovarian cysts). Once, when I had a huge cyst, the tech kept pushing the thing so deep that I thought the cyst was deffinitely going tp burst, and it HURT. Other times it wasn't as bad.

Good luck finding a new doctor.
