First of all ladies, Please dont give up your dream of having more children because of secondary infertility!!

My story starts April 07 When I got my "first AF" since having Noah. I didnt get a second AF after that and kept breastfeeding Noah until he was 15 months and pushed myself to give up breastfeeding in the hope to get AF back (this was November 07). By Feb 08 I hadnt got AF back, so I went to my doctor (a Locum/temp) who sent me for tests. One came back that I had low estrogen so she put me on "the pill" to help me get it AF back. I only did one month as I did a bit of research as I thought it was a bit off (turns out I was right). I went back in the May and saw my own doctor who did more tests and refered me through to "the womens hospital" (everything like that here is free...but the waiting list is VERY long). Everything on the tests showed back as "normal". In August 08 I finally got AF back (9 months after giving up breastfeeding!) and a week later received a letter from the hospital saying I was on the waiting list and should hear from them within 6 months for an appointment (just for your info I still havent heard from them yet...need to ring up tomorrow and get taken off the waiting list anyway). Anyway I got my on Monday 17th September....17 months after getting my "first AF" and started trying.

Wow! That must have been a very trying time waiting for AF even so long after weaning! I am still breastfeeding my 32mth old and plan to stop when she is age 3 (unless I get a BFP first as I want her to self-wean) and my AF came back at 9mths but I remain unable to concieve as I have a short luteal phase of 7 - 8 days. Whether thats because of breastfeeding or not is hard to say (and 'experts' can't seem to agree either). I've just started taking 200mg of B6 and am waiting to see if that lengthens my LP.
