I go in on January 22nd at 10:15am to hear the h/b and have my first u/s. I'll be about 8 weeks by then so they're confident it'll be really good. This'll probably be my last update until then! They're not doing any betas or anything so now it's just a matter of waiting.

It seems so far away...and that's just to me, LOL. I bet the time will go by quickly and we'll read your great update. Make sure to post some u/s picks. OK?

Oh I will. I just hope the time flies. I'm so paranoid about the miscarriage risk I won't feel better until I see the baby and know it's okay.

Do you have an increased risk for miscarriage or are you worried about the normal risk that every woman has? Have you had one before? Hope it's not too many question, I was just curious.

I can't wait to hear an update Anna! You definitely need to post ultrasound pics! You should definitely see the heartbeat on ultrasound, but don't worry if they can't find it with a doppler. I think 8 weeks is still in that range were some can hear it, but it's completely normal to not be able to hear it. With Sierra my first appointment was at 9 weeks and I heard it. With Will they couldn't find it on a doppler at 8 or 10 weeks (but it was showing on the ultrasound) so I didn't get to hear it until 12 weeks.
You'll definitely be in my prayers until you see that beautiful heartbeat, but keep in mind that positive thinking can go a long way. Have faith that everything will be fine!

Thanks ladies. I have a feeling I'm going to be a tad emotional for awhile.
Amanda ~ I have PCOS which, depending on the source, causes a 30-50% risk of marriage as opposed to the 15% risk for healthy women. I've never had one in the past, but my PCOS developed later so now I'm terrified of losing my precious bean.

Didn't realize you have PCOS but I understand what you mean. It's kinda the same with hypo - when I am blessed with a baby I have a higher risk of miscarriage (not sure how much higher though). I will also have to do a lot more than healthy moms when I get preggo - I'll have to stay on top of my thyroid levels to make sure they don't get our of range or it could seriously harm the baby.

That must cause you a lot of concern. I've heard a lot of women talk about thyroid issues and pregnancy. One of the women in my DDC has a thyroid problem that they had to get under control for her to even get her BFP. I never knew it could cause so much trouble.

Yeah, you wouldn't believe that such a small organ can affect literally EVERYTHING in your body. It's crazy but what's even worse is trying to find a good dr to treat it & especially treat it adequately during pregnancy. It's not exciting like diabetes so drs just don't stay on top of it like other chronic conditions. I'm now on my 3rd dr (& I believe my last since I really like this one) for this. My Endocrinologist (who I can't stand) actually responded to my comment about my hair falling out that my hair was thick when I was hypo but now that I am fixed my hair is just going to be thinner. I left him after that & found a dr willing to listen who ran an additional test & slightly adjusted my thryoid meds & voila, my hair quit falling out.
