I can't believe it's the fourth and I am just now remembering to post a new chat thread! I am so bad at remembering this!
How has everyone's weekend been? Good I hope. I am pretty sure AF is here or will be soon anyway. Such is life. Now I can fully go into relaxed mood though.
BTW....I wanted to start a new contest for our board, but decided to wait a few days since the holidays were still wrapping up. Be watching for details coming later today!

Don't feel bad Steph, I still forget it's the new year sometimes already. I am having a yucky weekend, my grandpa is in the hospital right now with double pnemonia and today he went into a coma, they are not expecting him to make it, so it's been a bad weekend here. Look forward to hearing how everyone elses went.

Oh, man! I'm so sorry to hear that!
Nothing new over here - it's a pretty typical weekend but I'm dreading going back to work tomorrow!

I did my monthly shopping trip today. 1 month worth of food for 4 people, laundry detergent, dish detergent, plus a case of bottled water (24 bottles) for my church all for less than $200! Woo Hoo! And I didn't get any junk this time! All healthy options. Lots of fruit, veggies, and other low fat or fat free snack options. Also got healthier meal options this month too.
This new fitness plan has me really excited!

Wow Steph, how do you do it, it's like 150 a week here for groceries and cleaning supplies, but then dh has to have like 48 cans of soda, you seem to be following your healthy eating regimen, yay.
I went to the grocery store today and it was 171 for one week, but then that included diapers, and a new toy for caleb and of course shampoo/conditioner. I am so tired, think I am getting ready to go take a bath and go to bed.

You know I'm doing much better with grocery shopping over here - it's starting to average about $130 ($140 max) a week which is soooooooooo much better than what we used to do - $200/week (& often more than that). I've just been paying close attention to price & buying a lot more generics.

Ohh my goodness this is the PERFECT chat!!!
Well lets not get me started on groceries..We spend about ..$1200 to $14000 Can. A month less in summer fo course since I grow all my own friuts and veggies Organicly.
I just started to try to loss a few pnd myself. I am cutting back on extra fats like buuter.mayo ect and choseing to NOT eat sweets and snack at night and I am rideing my excersise bike daily now. I am hopeing to shed 15 to 20 pnds in the next 3 months. Is that realistic I have never tried this before?

Irene - I've always heard that it is safe & healthy to loose a pound or 2 a week - no more. So your goal of 20 lbs in the next 3 months sounds reasonable to me. My only tip (other than the obvious of good diet & exercise) is don't eat anything during the 2 hours before bed. That allows your last meal to digest before you go to sleep (sleep slows down your digestive system & if there is food in there you can gain more weight).
As far as exercise goes, I'm doing an elliptical & love it but then again it is parked in front of my TV. I think if I were you I'd pick up a sport with your children - tennis or volleyball or something. That'd be a GREAT way to exercise & have fun doing it!

Irene, I agree with Amanda, your goal sounds very reasonable. I actually want to lose about 80 pounds, but am setting my ticker for short term goals, that way it won't be so overwhelming to look at. I did not do so great yesterday, I ate two pieces of peanut butter fudge, evil stuff, ick.

It's so hard to resist sweets for me, the rest is much easier, I am going to try to behave today though!! I have got to get my kitchen straightened up again.

I want to lose about 40 pounds but since getting my thyroid under control it's not that hard to lose. I lost about 10 pounds over the past year without really trying too hard. That 10 doesn't count in the 40 I need to loose - I just really need to buckle down & do it. My weakness is sweets too!

amanda, have you been diagnosed with pcos? Any insulin resistance? If so, maybe try a low glycemic diet-I did that last year and lose 20lbs pretty fast. I'm also hypothyroid on meds, but cutting down on the high sugar carbs really did it for me.
