Is it normal to have a heavier/more painful af after a miscarriage, I started my af yesterday, approx two weeks after the m/c and it's incredibly painful and heavy, just wondered if this was normal.

Each pregnancy and woman are different. AF after m/c may come 2-6 weeks and be either too light/short. too heavy/long or anything in between. Mine came 4 weeks after the m/c (5 weeks after the bleeding started) and was lighter and shorter than usual. Now I'm back to my normal peiods.

I hope it eases up soon.

I've had some horribly heavy and painful and some so light and short that I wasn't even sure it was AF. I hope that it eases up for you. If you are concerned....if it lasts too long or if it gets extremely heavy (filling a pad or tampon in an hour or less) then go get checked out. Better safe than sorry.

I don't post in this group but noticed that topic and had been wondering the same thing. I had a d&c in Dec and this is my first AF since then. It has been so heavy and my cramps have been so bad. I haven't had a period like this since I was in high school. It's good to see that I'm not alone.
