Herbs of any kind for ttc, I have used vitex and really love it, but was thinking of using evening primrose oil, and possibly black cohost but not sure, also I have been taking baby aspirin every day, I read about that in the book (fertility for dummies)any suggestions or idea' s would be greatly appreciated, I am hoping my doc will give me clomid but afraid they won't cause of my weight which I am trying to lose, but I am so obsessed with everything now, I usually only o once a year and am scared that I won't o again till november. I know I am probably over obsessing, but I can't stop myself.

Nope, but have considered Maca Root since it helps fertility, thyroid, & my immune system (I have an autoimmune disease). This is what I have read about its benefits:
* reduce or eliminate menopausal symptoms
* provide nutritional support for the endocrine system (including adrenals, thyroid, ovaries, & testes)
* regulate & normalize menstrual cycles
* promote healthy fertility for both men & women
* promote healthy libido & erectile function
* support a healthy immune system w/o overstimulating it or endangering people w/ autoimmune disease
* increase energy, stamina, & endurance

I used to take baby aspirin too but quit since I couldn't find a dr (other than the endo that I didn't like) that could tell me WHY it was beneficial to take it. My endo said that most hypo patients have thick blood & the aspirin will promote better blood flow to the uterus & uterine lining. After seeing several drs & talking with several people with hypo about it I decided to quit. I may try it again later but right now I thought I could eliminate it to see if it helps any with my TTC efforts.

Baby aspirin can prevent miscarriages *IF* the miscarriage is due to a clotting disorder or suspected clotting disorder. In some cases they will have you take it through the first 12 weeks, and in others they have you take it until the 36th week. To my knowledge though, it's only beneficial if you have one of those clotting disorders.

I did use EPO for a while because I didn't have much CM after one of my miscarriages. I found that taking it thinned my mucous way to much and *****TMI ALERT***** I washaving to wear panty liners pretty much all the time because there was so much of it.

Maca root is one that is supposed to have alot of advantages. There were some girls here using it when I first started hosting this board. At least one of them has since gone on to have a baby. I'm going to try to dig up that thread so you can read it.

Steph - please do!!! I have been curious about it since I read about it back when I was first dx with hypo but I'm not one to take meds unless I KNOW I need them so I just haven't done it - plus I would want a dr who knows a little about it too to know if it is safe during pregnancy. I would love to even talk to someone who HAS taken it.

Vicki - if you take it let me know how you like it!

BTW, I've never had a miscarriage. I was told it would help me get preggo but this came from the same dr that said my hair was thick when I was hypo but now that I am fixed it is just going to be thinner! I changed drs once he said that & we ran additional tests, changed my meds a little bit & voila, my hair quit falling out. My endo was a moron! Pardon my french!

I found it and bumped it. It's like five pages long, but if you skim through the first couple of pages, you can get the gist.

I skimmed through it, I seen that they did seem to think it helped, and I know the one girl must have gotten her bfp shortly after the last post, so maybe it helped her, I ordered some maca root online today and am going to try and take it next cycle and see how it goes, will let you ladies know.
