I think I know why I haven't gotten pregnant. I think I have PCOS.
I'll tell you the story.
I have been having massive amounts of cystic like acne on my back for who knows how long now and it just keeps getting worse. It get very painful, I can't even get a back rub from DH. Well, I went googling and came across articles about androgen hormones which can cause the acne that I have. I kept reading and came across loads of more info. Chest hair on women. Yes, I have a few hairs where there shouldn't be. Ok my curiosity got the best of me. ONE ARTICLE tied it all in.
I have been having issues with high cholesterol, seems it's doubled in 2 years. I have back acne BAD! I have hairs where I don't want them. The hair on my head is thinning. I have to be careful what I eat and when I eat or I feel sick, lightheaded, and I have to eat something BEFORE I can have my coffee with sugar or I get real shaky. I have really super heavy periods.
I found http://www.pcos.insulitelabs.com/PCOS-Symptoms.php and I was only looking for a reason as to why I have such bad back acne.
I am making an appointment with my Dr in the morning. If this is it, I am happy. Happy to have an answer and I know what road I am going to have to take now. Even if I don't get pregnant, maybe I can get all the other things under control!
Does this make sense?

All I want right now is answers. If it is PCOS, I'd rather get my symptoms under control first before TTC.

It does sound like PCOS and thankfully the diagnosis is easy. I was diagnosed later last year and all it took was 2 rounds of 50mg of Clomid to get our BFP. Knowing what was wrong was definitely a huge relief though. I hope you get answers so you can approach this from a fresh mindset with a better plan.

Appointment was canceled due to the weather.
What test is most crucial? I was going in for my CD 3 tests and now must wait another month. Is there something else they can do to find out? I know she'll set me up for a scan but I read not all girls have the 'necklace'.
Where do I go from here?

Oh, no - that really sucks!!! I'm not sure what test is most crucial but I would definately talk to them about a CD 23 progesterone test at some point. I have a progesterone defect so IDK, maybe you do too. Sorry I can't really be of more help!

I have an appointment with my OBGYN on the 3rd and that's not anywhere near CD 21 or 23. I do know that they allow walk ins for labs everyday but I'm still going to talk to him about PCOS.
The appointment that was canceled was with my general practitioner, I'm going to my OBGYN now. Might as well go to him since my GP doesn't do c-sections and if I need a u/s I'd have to go to my OBGYN anyway.

I'm insulin resistant which can happen with PCOS, they can draw a fasting insulin level for that. I've also had the acne, and the high cholesterol for years, also high blood pressure and hypoglycemic issues. Much of my symptoms have come down once I started Metformin for IR. Haven't checked the cholesterol in four years, if its high I can't take the meds anyhow since TTC. Good luck!!

The CD 3 b/w will be a big help, but they can use other indicators. Definitely get checked for insulin resistance to be on the safe side and when you can do the CD 3 b/w. If your ovaries don't have cysts on them they could also be polyfollicular which is a good indicator. There's a good chance they won't consider it a complete diagnosis until they have both the b/w and scan, but the scan could still indicate something. Mine had to be done on CD 7 though.
