Hi all, I am new to this board, been a member of justmommies on and off for a long time, I have one beautiful daughter Alexa, her father and I didnt work out and I was a single Mum for 4 years with her, she was a very sick baby girl with kideny failure and seizures ( I must add she is a perfectly normal 8 year old now!). I met my husband whom Im married to now in 2005, we were married November 18, 2006, found out we were preggo on December 6... Our baby was born premature in May 2007, he had group b strep and was very sick, he didnt survive very long after birth...
NOW! 2 years almost later I go to see my doc and he tells me I have pcos, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and that my chances of naturally getting pregnant are very low, I am very naive when it comes to pcos but either way Im not happy, finally meet the man of my dreams get married and get pregnant right away and lose Rennon, now find out I may not have anymore .....

Welcome to our group. First, I just want to say how sorry I am for your loss. I don't know anything about your particular case of course, but there are alot of ladies with PCOS that do go on to have healthy pregnancies. It just takes a little extra work. I really don't think it would even require fertility treatments beyond possibly some Clomid and another medicine (such as metaformin) to control your PCOS. If your doctor is suggesting anything more than that I would certainly get a second opinion before doing anything.
I hope that you get a BFP very soon, and I am looking forward to getting to know you better during your time here.

I'm so sorry for your loss.
Don't let a PCOS diagnosis bring you down. I was diagnosed late last year and it was like a slap in the face. DH and I had been trying for our first together and after that it really felt like it was never going to happen. I had been charting so we knew I was probably ovulating and that since my estrogen was low odds were the eggs were simply no good. Assuming I really was ovulating. My OB put me on 50mg of Clomid on CDs 5-9 and we got our BFP the second cycle. Your treatment may or may not need to be more aggressive, but pregnancy is still a possibility. Now that you know what the problem is you're a huge step closer to that BFP. The ladies here and on the PCOS board (I saw you posted there as well) were a tremendous help to me. They provided support that most others couldn't because they simply hadn't experienced problems to understand what it's like. I really hope that you can work with your doctor to develop a plan and get the ball rolling.

I'm sorry for you loss! to our club though I wish you weren't here since I know how hard secondary infertility is - I don't wish it on anyone! I have hypothyroidism with a few PCOS symptoms though my OB thinks my problem is my thyroid & not PCOS. I hope you get your BFP soon!

Hi and Welcome to our board, so sorry for your loss. My name is Vicki (28) my dh is Harlan (30) and we have a son Caleb who will be 3 in april(wow how time flies) I also have pcos, I was diagnosed back in 2003, so I know that even with pcos you can still get pregnant, the mix of meds that usually helps me is metformin and clomid, good luck hope you get your bfp soon and go on to have a healthy little bundle of joy.

I'm sorry for your loss. I'm Jenny. My husband, Corey, and I are TTC baby #2. We have one son named Teddy who will be 4 in April. My body produces too much prolactin so I don't ovulate.
I hope you get a BFP soon.
