Hello! I'm new here, and I have secondary infertility. Well, I think I have general infertility and just got lucky the first time.
My husband and I tried for a long time without any type of protection and in April of 1998 we have a miscarriage. A month later I got pg again and it stuck. In comes Greyson. In On July 11th, 2000 I was having really bad side pain, nauseous, the whole nine yards. At the time I needed permission from my doctor to go to the ER b/c of our insurance, and I was calling her all through the night but she insisted it was just gas or something. She said the only way I could go in was if I started throwing up. I called her back and lied that I had been throwing up, just to go in. I was also having some menstrual like bleeding, even though I had my period two weeks before. She thought maybe it was my appendix, and agreed for me to go to the ER.
We got in and the doctors ran some blood tests. They came back in and asked me when my last period was. I told them two weeks ago. They asked me "Are you sure??" over and over again. I told them "YES b/c we are trying to get pg so I'm keeping track of my periods." They told me they were just wondering b/c my HCG came back +. They knew at this point that I was having an ectopic pg. They took me back for an ultrasound and then scheduled me for surgery first thing that morning. After surgery my Ob/Gyn told me he was glad I came in b/c if I had just gone to sleep, I probably would not have woken up the next morning.
We've been trying to get pg ever since then. We have never used any form of birth control, except a couple times b/c the Reprod. Endo. asked me to for cysts. We have had 6 miscarriages since then, all within the first two years. The last time I was pg was in Nov 2002. We have both had all the tests you can imagine, and nothing has come back abnormal. I luckily didn't lose my fallopian tube from the ectopic, but it did leave some scarring. I also have Endometriosis, so that doesn't help us any.
I desperately want another child, and a sibling for our son. I would do IVF in a heartbeat, but there's no way we could ever afford it. We can't even afford to do a free adoption! I just want another baby so I can do all the things I've since discovered and I didn't get to do with Greyson, like breastfeed (I didn't just discover this, but he had horrible MSPI among other allergies and it was either stop breastfeeding or me stop eating b/c he couldn't handle pretty much anything I ate, so I stopped at 6 weeks), cloth diapering, baby wearing, etc.

Welcome to the group hun. I'm Stephanie, the host here. I have a 10 year old son and a 7 year old. My ex husband and I went for 3 years of not trying/not preventing before we ended up divorcing, and then my new husband and I have been actively trying for 3 years now. We've had 5 miscarriages in that time. I totally understand how frustrating it can be.
The girls here are great and offer tons of support. I am looking forward to getting to know you better!

Hi, I am Vicki (29) wife to Harlan (30) our son Caleb will be 3 in april, and we have been ttc'ing four our 2nd child for about 15 months, with two losses, I hope you get your sticky bfp soon, i know how frustrating ttc'ing can be and how devastating miscarriage can be. We are also looking into foster/adopt, I have postponed the classes for now, I am trying to make sure that we are emotionally ready to make that decision. I look forward to getting to know you, Welcome to our group, as Stephanie said the girls here are great.
