Hi all,

I'm Lauren and have been ttc #2 for about 5 months now. It's not too long, I know, but we got pregnant with #1 right away and then a second pregnancy again right away but I miscarried. I have been irregular since October and just visited my doc last week. He said he'd put me on clomid if I wanted just to get a more regular cycle, but I haven't decided yet. I truly think it's my anxiety that's the culprit of me not getting pregnant. Any suggestions/ideas/stories about clomid?

Thanks

PS-pardon the non-usage of any acronyms. I'm new to this and don't know them all!

Quick tip... if you hold your mouse over the acronym you'll see a tool tip that tells you what the acronym is! It's a pretty cool feature!

I'm Amanda, wife to Mike & mom to Austin (13). Mike & I are TTC our first now (Austin was from a previous marriage). We found a progesterone defect & I have so far taken 2 rounds of clomid. The first round improved my progesterone but the 2nd round turned out to be a waste since my progesterone went down, not up.

Why do you think anxiety is the culprit? I'm only asking b/c I've read that normal stress about TTC doesn't affect fertility so unless you are REALLY REALLY SEVERELY stressed I wouldn't think it is an issue & would seriously consider the clomid to regulate your cycles but that's just my opinion.

GL! I hope you get that soon!

I'm Jenny. My DH is named Corey and we have one son named Teddy who turns 4 in April. We are TTC#2 but I have a high prolactin level which is preventing me from ovulating.

Thanks for replying ladies

It's nice to know that I'm not the only one facing ovulation issues. I swear it feels like everyone I know is getting pregnant easily! As for the anxiety, I think it may be the culprit for my irregular cycles because we got pregnant right away both times and since the miscarriage I've had not only cycles anywhere from 28 to 39 days, but also an incredible amount of anxiety. I saw a therapist and they wanted to put me on meds, but that of course means I can't get pregnant. So I've actually been doing acupuncture which has been somewhat helpful. Anyway, it's all part of the journey I guess. I'm not sure about the clomid. I've had a couple of blood tests but nothing to report of low hormone levels. It's good to hear from you and about other experiences. Thank you And thanks for the tip about the acronyms!

Lauren

Hi Lauren! Welcome to the group. I'm Stephanie, the host here. I am actually in between Clomid cycles myself right now. I took it for three months, and went from ovulating on day 20-24 of a 30 day cycle (short LP) to Oing CD14-16 of a 30 day cycle now even without the Clomid. I've heard stories of it "jumpstarting" other peoples cycles too. My RE told me ther was a chance that could happen. I have been off of it for 3 months and still going great.

I am going to start it again next month in hopes that I will actually get pregnant this time, I was supposed to start this cycle....tonight actually, but I have to have some dental work done during this cycle so I am going to wait until next cycle to start again.

I just wanted to share with you that while it hasn't helped me to get pregnant yet, it has helped to change my cycle in a very good way. Good luck with your TTC journey. If you have any questions or need anything please don't hesitate to post here on the board or to PM me at any time. I am looking forward to getting to know you.
